The mining process usually included RFQ/RFP and a Tender Process. The Tender processes are usually complex and require a lot of working hours but mostly, they require attention and accuracy to meet all the demands. One mistake can be critical and disqualify the Bidder/Tenderer.

Moreover, since mining companies are always quite conservative and cannot expose themselves to risks or shutdown time, the sale circle with the mining industry is longer than the average circle of other industries, and with regards to new solutions or technologies, there is a request for a small-scale pilot phase before entering into a long-term agreement. The pilot (POC) phase is the most critical phase in the process, and it will determine if the mine will proceed to contract to sign. Since the pilot might also bear significant expenditure (by the Vendor), the need for accuracy and efficiency is critical for the Vendor (to move forward to an agreement and also to avoid [$] significant losses)!

Project Management
Once winning a tender or a speculated bid, the planning, management, execution, and construction or assimilation phases requires a lot of knowledge, experience, and expertise. A new company/startup should always bear in mind that mining regulations and demands are very strict, and can also include significant penalties (for safety, environment, delays, etc. violations). Thus, the design, planning, management, and execution phase is more critical and challenging than the RFP/RFQ or Tender phase. Moreover, the challenge becomes even more critical when it comes to mining projects in developing countries, that explore stricter demands from the Vendors (local communities, country's regulation, etc.). Moreover, the long-term contract of the O&M or Service period also includes strict KPIs defined in the contract, and without meeting those criteria, the Vendor is highly exposed to high penalties or even the risk of being removed from the O&M or Services. Thus, while working with the mining industry is fulfilling, safe, stable, with respectable earnings and a great track record as clients, there are many aspects and risk assessment to be taken into consideration.
