Tech & Opportunities Scouting

Tech Scouting -> Screening -> Matching -> Assimilating

Based on our experience, we are well familiar with to fact that mining corporates prefer to focus on their main core business – Mining.

With that said, the need for innovative and sustainable solutions is an integral part of the industry's needs today and it has become more critical during the past decade. Thus, the corporates are still required to scout, screen, match, and assimilate innovative solutions as part of their ongoing activity for several reasons (process, regulation, community, etc.)

We enable our clients to focus on their core business while we focus on our core business -  Scouting, Screening, Matching, and Assimilating Innovative solutions with great potential or with existing proven solutions for the mining industry

The Mining industry is one of the most veteran industries in the world. Moreover, it cannot allow itself to explore technologies and solutions that have not been proven (after the POC phase), since it cannot risk potential unnecessary shutdown times, safety incidents, regulation violations (air, water, soil, etc.), and more generally, risk the ongoing operation of the mine (Operational Time = $). Thus, exploring new technologies is somewhere of a risk for the industry, thus, certainty must be applied before engaging with new innovative solutions (product/service). GTM enables the mining companies to obtain all the relevant information from a mine's perspective while ensuring a significant scouting and screening process before its recommendation for the company/startup (solution/technology) to the client (the specific mine). We work according to the client's (the specific mine or corporate) demands and criteria which we help facilitate together with the client before the scouting and screening process. Thus, the client receives a detailed report about the said potential solution, and eventually, GTM also supports the ongoing adaptation and assimilation of the said solution within the mine's activity.

Despite being global corporates that are focused on several countries (USA, Canada, China, Australia, South Africa, LATAM, Russia, etc.) the mining activity exists in most parts of the world. Each mine has its own tailor-made needs that are impacted by various aspects: the type of mining (Coal? Metal? Other? Gold, Silver? Copper?) Location (Underground? Surface? Mountains? Access routes?) Temperature (-40 or +30?), the process, regulation demands, labor laws, and more aspects. Thus, there cannot be a solution that is tailor-made for the entire industry or to a specific country. There is a learning curve and adaptation in the technical proposal presented to each mine per its specific needs. As team leaders that have been working in and with the mining industry for more than 3 decades, we are fully aware of the strict demands and challenges, thus, we have adjusted our methodology to meet the needs coming from the industry.

Mining Opportunities Scouting

When a company with a dedicated solution for mining is ready to start the market penetration process with the product/service, it usually finds itself with many questions, since mining is indeed global, however, each mine also acts on its own with regards to procurement, management decision, tailor-made needs (location, temperature, regulations, process, type of mining, etc.), thus, as a vendor with an innovative solution for mining, usually, the first question will be: "Where do we start?"

Mining is indeed a very challenging industry. Despite being one of the strongest financial industries in the world, it is still very conservative with regard. Usually, mining companies will prefer to work with proven companies/startups, and especially, with companies/startups that have proven their product/services with other mines. Another optional approach is to work with experienced stakeholders that are consultants and advisors already experienced with the mining industry – if through their mining experience as employees/consultants or as vendors from various types of verticals.

Based on the experience and strong networking of the team leader with the mining industry for over 3 decades, GTM enables its clients and business partners to have direct access to some of the leading mining corporates in the world and senior stakeholders, from versatile management positions.

Our methodology includes an extensive analysis process of the potential product/service, a report that includes the points out the Pros & Cons of the product/service with regards to the mining industry's needs, recommendations on the market strategy and market penetration process, potential mining clients (most relevant type of mining, territory, etc.) and in the process, we engage and connect with the relevant mines (Specific mines and not a general corporate) and offer the product/service after our review and to have GTM to accompany the process (the business model are flexible and can vary accordingly).

The most important thing to remember while approaching the mining industry is that having the best solution or product does not necessarily mean that you will even have the opportunity to present it to potential clients. The right approach will be to engage with companies or stakeholders that have a positive reputation and track record with the industry and can promote the product or service ASAP.
